I am (aged 72 - having arthritis problem on left knee)my daughter 27 and my son 24 started climbing the hills at 7pm on 7-12-2011 (after returning from Kalahasti) and reached the top at about 10.30pm. It was a wonderful experience for all of us. My daughter did not sip water and did not take a single break to sit down. Lord Venkateswara gives all the strength and energy.
We got free darshan coupons. My children used the same - as a senior citizen I could avail the facility and could not use the coupon.

Alipiri is the best way to reach Tirumala. Once I suggested to walk thru alipiri. Biometric tickets are available at galigopuram for Divya darshan. U can leave ur baggage at the alipiri luggage counter and luggage reaches Tirumala in 2-3hrs
Remember to carry a camera to take some snapshots of nature
