At a distance of 18 KM from Kausani there is a group of temples at Baijnath. These temples are also known as Vaidyanath consist of main Shrine of Lord Shiva and seventeen subsidiary shrines called as Kedareswar, Lakshmi-Narayan and Brahmini Devi etc. These temples are constructed in Nagara Style( Curvilinear Spire ) . The main temple is Pancharatha on plan with a projected portico while the Shikhar ( Spire ) of the temple has collapsed in the past. The main attraction of the group is standing status of the Parvait made of grey schist, tresses of 26 miniature images around it.
On the basis of Architectural features these temples can be assigned to 9th to 12th cent. A.D and probably built by Katyuri Rulers of ancient Kartikeypura.
In front of this temple there are plenty of big size fishes available on the river. They come to the river bank freely as devotees feed them with nuts available locally.
