TaraTarini temple at Berhampur

TaraTanini Temple
This temple is located at top of Kumari hill on the bank of the river Rushikulya. TaraTareni temple is known as one of the four Adi Shakti Peeths.

Opening Hours of the temple

Morning 6.30 AM to 12.30 PM
After noon 2.00 PM to night 8.30 PM
There is a Queue system and on special puja occasions temple timmings are extended.

There is an entry fee of Rs 1 per head.
Hair tounser cose is Rs 10/- and Special Puja at Rs 20/- . There is a counter to collect all fees.
Travel from Berhampur to Purushtompur road. Before Purushotampur you need to divert right from Tara Tereni Junction. From here Tareni temple is 3 KM. You will reach foothill of the temple after travelling 3 KM from the Tarini Junction.

Distance from Bhubaneswar – Cuttack

Travel in NH 5 from Cuttack or Bhubaneswar and reach Humma Junction. This Junction is 155 KM from Bhubaneswar. Take right turn to enter Humma - Purusottampur road. Cross Purusottampur and cross Rushikulya river , take left turn at Keshpur to reach Tara Tarini. From Humma Tara Tarini temple is 33 KM

Berhampur to Taratarini temple is 27 KM
Purusottampur to TaraTareni temple is 7 KM
Bhubaneswar to Tara Tareni is 188 KM
From Humma Jn on NH5 it is 33 KM

Rushikulya river
Tarini temple is located at top of a hill. Motoreble road is there to climb up the hill to reach the temple. The road distance is 2.5 KM from foot hill to temple. There is an entry fee of Rs 15 collected at foothill for vehicles. Parking space is available at the top.
There are 999 Steps available to reach top of the hill and near the temple.

Rope way to temple top

TaraTanini Cable Car
From the foot hill you can take rope way to reach temple top within 5 minutes. Ticket both way will take Rs 40/ and one way is Rs 28/- . You will get excellent view of river Rusukulya and the greenery around while climbing.
Ropeway timing is from morning 07.15 AM to evening 5.30 PM.
At the top of the hill you will get excellent view of the surrounding green agricultural land and river Rushikulya.
Photography is not allowed inside the main temple but outside you can take photos. The place is best for landscape photography with green fields and river at background.

Be aware of Monkeys here. Close your vehicle windows and cover food items. If you are holding Prasad then take care as any moment monkeys may snatch them from you. Usually devotees come here after purchasing vehicles and offer food to Monkeys. Take the help of locals shopkeepers selling Prasad and other puja items near the temple. Coconuts and Deepa ( Candels ) are to be offered outside the main complex.

 Chaitra Parba:

Every Tuesday of Chaitra month ( lunar calendar ) is considered to be scared and heavy rush will be there for darshan of goddess TaraTarini. These months falls in the March / April months of English Calendar. Long queue can be seen during Tuesday s of this month.

Accommodation at Taratarini.

Usually devotees come here from nearby places and returns to Barahampur for night stay. If you are interested in staying in this peaceful area then Nirupama hotel is the best option.

Good information for a tourist, but there is no information for a devotee or a spiritual tourist. Therefore add some information for this famous shakti peetha, the sthana peeth (the breast shrine) of Adi Shakti.

Secondly, add some information for the famous and india's longest chaitra yatra. Lakhs of people comes from various parts of the globe.

Hope you will add it quickly for the benefit of people.
