Reaching Ranthambore

At a distance of 450 KM from Delhi , it will take nearly 7 hours to reach Ranthambour from Delhi. From Jaipur it will take 4 hours to cover nearly 200 KM.

By train

Railway station of Ranthambore is SAWAI MADHOPUR : Station Code : SWM .
There are several trains from Delhi (H NIZAMUDDIN : NZM) and some trains passes through New Delhi ( NDLS )

Booking a hotel at Ranthambore

Plan your journey based on check in time for resorts / hotels. Usually checkout time is at 12 noon and Check in time is 2 PM. Early arrival may be inconvenience as there are few options available here to spend your time.
There are two main tourist attractions at Ranthambore , one is visit to Ranthambore fort and other one is Jungle Safari. Ranthambore fort visit will take minimum 2 hours and Safari timings are given below.

Jungle Safari

One of the main attraction of Ranthambore is Jungle safari. You book safari tickets issued by forest department online by visiting Rajasthan Single Sign On page at https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in/signin.

You can book before 365 days of the safari date.
You can login by using your gmail id.
After login visit Forest and Wildlife > Wildlife ticket booking service > Advanced wildlife ticket bookings.
Under the Protected area select Ranthambore National Park – Sawai Madhopur
Select the Date of visit from the Calendar
Select Zone ( Zone 1 to Zone 6 tiger spotting chances are more )

Select Vehicle ( Canter or Jypsy )
Select (Choose Shift) : ( Full Day , Morning , Evening )
Based on the availability you can fill the member details. Carry the original ID proof of all the members with you while travelling. This ID must be the same ID used at the time of booking.

Getting the boarding pass.

You need to collect the boarding pass from the Forest Safari booking counter at least 45 minutes before the entry time. However all hotels at Ranthambore has facility to help you in collecting boarding passes with pickup and drop facility on payment of Rs 100 to Rs 150 per person. Your ticket will have all the details of entry timings, cancellation policy , ID proof , guide etc .

During Rainy seasons, starting from July till end of September Ranthambore Jungle safari is closed.

Chance of spotting tiger and other wild animals.

You will able to see deer , Sambar deer, peacock in good numbers in their natural habitats. You can even spot crocodile laying near the water points. However spotting of tiger chances are 50 %. In summer seasons the chances of spotting tiger increases as they remain available near water points and move in groups also.

Dust protection and Camera.

Normal camera ( including DSLR ) or mobile phones are allowed during the safari without any extra charges. Video camera charges are to be paid separately.
Carry hat / cap and cover your face as you will be travelling in open vehicle and there will be dust in dry seasons inside the jungle routes.
