 At the south of Jharkhand state TATANAGAR is located at an altitude of 159 m above mean sea level. This city is also known as Jamshedpur, named after the founder of Tata Iron and Steel company TISCO . Tata is an industrial town and it is well connected by rail and road network. You can reach Tata railway station from Calcutta by traveling a distance of 251 Km. It is located in main Mumbai Kolkata railway line. It is also well connected by road and nearest main airport is Kolkata.
Places to Visit Dimna Lake located 13 KM from the city, its surroundings are ideal for picnics and boat rides. Jubilee Park, spread over 225 acres, adorned with flower beds, gardens and illuminated fountains was presented by the Tata Steel company to the citizens of Jamshedpur in its Golden Jubilee year. Jubilee Amusement Park houses many rides and games for children Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary one can see elephants, barking deer, sloth bears, porcupines, leopards, tigers etc. The best time to visit TATA is in winter season that is from November to March.
