Namchi at South Sikkim

Gangtok town Headquater of South Sikkim, Namchi at a height of 5500 ft is at a distance of 78 KM from Gangtok and 100 KMs from NJP ( New Jalpaiguri ). Central Park

At the center of the Namchi town this is place to spend your time. Water fountains with beautiful flowers including Tulip around it makes a beautiful park the best place hang around for some time. Locals enjoy this place as much at tourist visiting this town. Many shops and hotels and restaurants developed around this park. One aquarium is also located inside this park.

Statue of Guru Padmasambhava

At a distance of 7 KM from Namchi Market at Samdruptse hill top the 45 meter high status of Guru Padmasambhava is there. This status was first conceptualized and visualized by Shri Pawan Chamling Ex Chief Minister of Sikkim. The foundation stone was laid by his holiness the Dalai Lama on 22nd October 1997. His eminence Kyabje Dudrupchen Rinpoche supervised the religious aspects and the performed the Rabnay ( construction ) ceremony. Shri Pawan Chamling unveiled the holy statue on 18th February 2004. You can carry your cameras, phones inside this complex. Steps are there to climb up to the top floor of the base structure building. There is an entry fee of Rs 20/- for the tourists.

Pilgrimage – cum – cultural center at Sholopok

At a distance of 5 KM from Namchi near the helipad there is a religious center with representation of Char Dham, a big Shiva status ( 108 ft ), 12 Jyotirlingas and a Sai temple.
