Padwa is located in southern Odisha near Andhra Pradesh - Odisha state border. At a distance of 17 KM from Chatwa border on the highway connecting Jeypore and Visakhapatnam this place is famous for it s natural beauty and Lake.

Padwa Lake

This lake is formed by back water of Jalaput reservoir and it starts from 16 KM from Araku. It will be at your left side while travelling from Araku ( Andhra Pradesh ) to Padwa. The area is famous for this lake and this lake has continued till Jolaput where there is a Dam to store water. This lake is also famous for Golden fish ( Bangaru Papa ).

How to reach Padwa by road

Padwa is at 30 km from Araku, it is a 40 minutes drive from Araku main market . After 7 km from Araku market there is a Y junction where the left side road will go towards Chaparai. Take the right side road and travel towards Padwa on Jeypore road. While travelling river will be on your left side and railway track will be at your right . after 13 km from Araku you will reach Andhra – Orissa border at Chatwa. There is a small river which divides the 2 states. From this border Padwa is 15 KM

From Vishakhapatnam Padwa is 140 Km

Padwa is famous for Cashew nuts . There is a cashew factory at the main market area of Padwa. Cashew produced in this area is famous for it sweet taste. Local ladies work in this factory.

Weekend market on Thursday is another attraction at Padwa.
