Ellora Caves:
Ellora Caves are located at a distance of 28 KM from Aurangabad. The road from Aurangabad passes by the side of Daultabad fort. It is better to visit these caves in afternoon as sun light falls towards to opening of the caves. Ellora caves can be visited after visiting Daulatabad Fort. Minimum of two hours required to cover these caves so conserve your time and energy to spend more time here if you are in a one day sightseeing trip of Aurangabad. The caves are spread out in 2 KM area and from the parking space you can hire one Auto to take you around. The Auto driver can be your guide and while dropping you in front of caves can explain you about the particular caves. After covering all the caves you can get dropped at the same parking area and from there you can visit the Kailas the best cave of Ellora.

All caves are numbered, out of which Cave No 1 to 12 are Buddhist Caves. Cave No 13 to 29 are Hindu caves. Cave No 30 to 34 are Jain Caves. All caves are located in a good natural surroundings. Water falls are there around the caves and the famous one is Sita Ki Nahani.

Place to Stay

Aurangabad. Small hotels are available at Ellora and near Grishneshwar temple but it is better to stay at Aurangabad and take a cab to reach this place.

After finishing Ellora you can visit Grishneshwar temple.
