On the river Chalakudy , this waterfall is at a distance of 72 KM from Cochin.
On National Highway No : 47 you have to take a right turn ( while travelling from Cochin side ) at Angamaly ( 40 KM ) . From this Junction Athirappilly waterfall is 34 KM and it will take 40 Minutes to reach from this junction.

Ticket counter is 500 meter before the entry point. From the entry point visitors have to walk around 300 meters to reach the river and the waterfall point. Barricades are there to prevent tourists from going up to the edges of the fall. There is a walkway with steps for the tourist to go to the bottom of the waterfall. This walkway to floor of the waterfall is open upto 5 PM only.
