Kaza
Subdivision headquarter of Spiti, Kaza is connected from two ends. One is from Shimla side via, Rampur ,Recong Peo, Nako, Tabo. The other end is from Manali side via Kunjam Pass. Shimla side road remains open from May, Jun till October. From Manali side Kunzum la pass remains open from June till winter snow fall but this road is highly unpredictable and it gets block due to snow fall even in months of June and July.

From Manali via Kunzum Pass you can reach Kaza ( if road is open ) in same day.
From Shimla side you can't reach in one single day and you can stay at Peo or Kalpa or before that. However it is advisible to stay at Nako one night if you have time.
Kaza town has all the facilities and BSNL mobile tower is available in the town. Power supply is not assured here, any time it may fail for number of days so carry sufficient extra battery for your camera and mobile phones. Carry a battery torch with you as it will help you in your hotel. If you are traveling by vehicle then keep a mobile charger inside.
In the Kaza town there is a Monastery.
Kibber ( 4205 M )
Kibber village is 18 KM from Kaza. This is one of the highest human inhabited village of the world.
Kye Monastery
At a distance of 7 KM from Kaza this is one of the oldest Monasteries.
Dhankar Monastery
At the top of a hill this monastery is 24 KM from Kaza. If you are traveling from Tabo to Kaza then at your right side at top of a hill this Monastery will be visible.
